Open CalculatorsPaid Hours formula: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM minus 30 minutes = 8.00 hours. Overnight: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM = 8 hours. Decimal reference: 15 minutes = 0.25, 30 = 0.50, 45 = 0.75, 60 = 1.00, 8 hours 30 minutes = 8.50. Overtime and double time: 45 hours at $25 = $1,187.50 gross. Weekly: 40 hours regular, biweekly: 80 hours regular. Tips: enter breaks separately, check overnight shifts, use decimal hours for payroll, keep a weekly total, and compare the result with your payslip.
Under the federal baseline, overtime is 1.5 times pay after 40 hours in a workweek. Some states add daily overtime or different thresholds, so check your state rules and your employer policy.

No. Subtract only unpaid break time. If your break is paid, leave it in your paid hours, because it is still paid work time.
